Crossroads Prison and Rehabilitation Ministries became a pattern for similar initiatives in Germany and other countries. Some essential characteristics link these Prison and Rehabilitation Ministries world wide: they accompany prisoners, share their lives with criminal and endangered people, offer complete help and talk about the forgiveness of God, that is a true offer for everybody.

Thus the ministries do not rely on financial support by the state, but on honorary engagement of citizens. That’s why this pattern of prison and rehabilitation ministry becomes especially interesting for countries that have limited financial resources.

The associations keep in touch through a yearly "International Conference of Christian Prison and Rehabilitation Ministries" as well as through outreaches from Germany to the several continents. The international as well as the German associations are linked by the "International Association of Christian Charitable and Counselling Prison and Rehabilitation Ministries" (IACPR).
